Ontario premier Doug Ford’s Conservative government is introducing a bill to extend some of its emergency orders for the next year. But private REC retail delivery and pickup will not be included among them. It will end those services.
Ottawa Matters
- The state of emergency in Ontario will expire July 15–and with it goes the temporary order allowing private delivery and curbside pickup options for REC retail.
Twitter–@itsdgc - A representative of finance minister Rod Phillips said REC stores will be able to reopen provided they abide by social distancing rules.
BNN Bloomberg - REC delivery will again become a monopoly for the Ontario Cannabis Store (and paid shipping will likely return).
@diplomat, @PresumablyPaul - No one in the cannabis space celebrated the move.
