Georgia cracks open door to medical marijuana

Georgia could be a big cannabis market but the politically purple state has held a hard line against the industry. That has begun to change.

Six years after legalizing MED, Georgia will allow its 15,000 patients to buy their medicine. (Until this point, it’s been legal but not legally accessible.)

  • Georgia’s MED board chose six companies that will be allowed to sell products containing up to 5% THC.
  • Each will be vertically integrated and operate up to five dispensaries.
  • MSO Trulieve is among the winning applicants. 

The state supreme court recently ruled lawyers working with PotCos can be disciplined.
