PROFS TO CO-DIRECT UCD CAMPUS RESEARCH CENTER

On Jan. 30, UC Davis professors Cameron Carter and Li Tian were tapped to co-direct the school’s Cannabis Research Center, formed last year. Carter and Tian’s gig will be providing “strategic academic leadership” for the one-of-a-kind center’s cannabis and hemp related research.

This is to happen across UCD’s Davis and Sacramento campuses.

  • The two are tasked with developing mechanisms to move forward interdisciplinary collaborations, build partnerships outside the university setting and develop compliance initiatives.
  • The research center’s stated mission is to “provide insight, based on cutting-edge research across multiple disciplines, to advance knowledge about production, environmental and health impacts, testing, applications for use, and public policy for cannabis and hemp.”
