COOKIES SUED OVER NYC LOCATION
A entity with ties to Cookies’ multi-state retail partner TRP sued the brand in New York State courts days before Cookies’ Herald Square clothing store converted into a dispensary called Culture House.
The plaintiff alleges that Cookies’ partnership with a New York license winner violated their agreement to be its exclusive retail partner in the state. Cookies denies the allegation.
Culture House claims it is involved “in advocacy and social impact initiatives to enrich communities disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs,” but declined to say what those efforts are.

THE END OF MEDMEN
SoCal-based MedMen, the once high-flying MSO which opened a MED shop, years too early, on New York’s Fifth Ave. is in its death throes. The company, whose stock hit zero in January, became a symbol of green rush excess and hubris, before the cannabiz realized this isn’t an easy game for anyone.
Politico published a long postmortum of MedMen’s travails in 2020, and it just got smaller and sadder since, exiting Florida and New York, then Arizona and Nevada and then finally West Hollywood, a flagship store for six years.
While MedMen flew a little too close to the sun, the cannabiz still faces most of the same problems that crushed it. And as Seth Yakatan pointed out, it won’t be the last to go.
