N.Y. CRACKS DOWN ON GRAY MARKET
New York regulators are cracking down on the grey market which has sprung up since the state legalized REC last year. Shops “gifting” cannabis and similar practices have become rampant, even though the state has not even begun accepting REC business applications.
Equity efforts struggle nationwide: Report

It concludes:

- State license caps impede diversity in business ownership.Â
- Requirements to secure premises before licensing are a significant barrier for equity businesses.
- Industry bans on people with past cannabis convictions remain prevalent.
- Inequities in MED markets lead to inequities in REC markets.
