Today the LA Times published The Dirty Secret of California’s Legal Weed, an investigation by Paige St. John and myself, through WeedWeek. It looks into the presence of dangerous, sometimes banned, pesticides in California’s legal weed supply, and how state regulators have been unwilling and/or unable to address them.
 
It’s no secret that almost all newspapers are struggling, and a dwindling number have the talent, depth and resources needed to produce work like this. I’m grateful to the Times for the opportunity to help tell this story, and for the privilege of working with Paige, reporter Adam Elmahrek and the photographers, editors, videographers and designers who put have put together such a robust and engaging presentation of the material.
