AdWeek‘s Terry Stanley dove into how mainstream and brands shelled out big to celebrate and promote themselves on 4/20, despite the pandemic.
She writes:

And for cannabis marketers themselves, 4/20 is quickly becoming the equivalent of Super Bowl, Black Friday, New Year’s Eve and July Fourth all rolled into one big sales, promotional and bottom line-driving extravaganza.
- 4/20 is traditionally the biggest pot shopping day of the year. BDSA predicts 2021 will double or triple 2020’s record sales.
- My local $8 burger joint offered a “$4.20 OG Fatburger… a smokin’ good deal.” Get it?
- A new magazine, Black Cannabis, debuted with Whoopi Goldberg on the cover.
- Weedmaps lit up Times Square to celebrate 4/20 and legal REC in New York.
